CHBA BC officially provides builder education from coast to coast
Ottawa, Ontario. 26 October, 2016 – An official memorandum of understanding was signed today between the Canadian Home Builders Association of British Columbia (CHBA BC) and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of Newfoundland & Labrador (CHBA-NL) at the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) national meetings in Ottawa. This agreement signifies that CHBA Newfoundland & Labrador members will now be able to access builder courses and certifications through the CHBA British Columbia education program.
Neil Moody, CEO of CHBA BC, and Victoria Belbin, CEO of CHBA-NL officially signed the memorandum on behalf of the two associations. CHBA BC President Gordon Bliss and CHBA-NL President Sheldon Colbourne were also in attendance for this important event.
“Industry-specific education is very important for builders and there are many similarities with training needs across the country,” said Neil Moody. “Our courses and certifications were designed by builders for builders, and we are happy to partner with our industry colleagues at CHBA Newfoundland & Labrador to offer our education program to its members.”
“We are excited that our members will be able to access additional training opportunities through this program,“ said Victoria Belbin, CEO of CHBA Newfoundland & Labrador. “We will be able to work with local instructors from Newfoundland & Labrador and offer course sessions across the province. This permits us to offer a full range of professional courses from CHBA BC and tailor the delivery to fit our provincial and industry needs.”
